I was severely neglected by my former family and arrived at Luna’s sanctuary in shocking condition. I had lost almost all my hair due to mange and I was suffering from tvt and multiple tumors. Chances of me surviving were almost non existing.

After intensive treatment and lots of loving care, I made a remarkable recovery. Against all odds I survived the cancer that had spread through my entire body and all my hair grew back. Now it’s time for me to find a new family who will cherish me and make sure I never have to suffer again.

I was a homeless dog for as long as I can remember. Although I didn’t have everything a dog deserves, I had kind people looking after me and I led a care-free life. Sadly, this all came to an end one day when I got into a fight with a couple of vicious dogs. The attack left me with multiple wounds on my body. By the time I was found, I was more dead than alive.

I was brought to the vet immediately, where I spend quite some time. After a couple of weeks, the vet called Luna to make a decision. They expected me to die soon, was I going to die at the vet or would Luna want to take me home?

Of course they chose for the latter. They brought me to the sanctuary to fill my last days with love and happiness. But then something miraculous happened. Instead of growing weaker and weaker, I started to act more and more like a big puppy.

It’s been almost a year later now. I am a happy and healthy boy; nobody knows how, but I am glad Luna took me home that day.

Despite my gray hairs, I am still relatively young, and you can definitely see that in my energy level! I love going for walks, to explore the Safe Haven and to cuddle with my carers. My curious does get the better of me sometimes, so I shouldn’t be around small animals like cats but I would love to have another canine friend.

Four years ago, I got dumped in an area where I would have died no matter what. Luckily, I was found by Luna’s volunteers and brought to safety. I got to spend some time at a foster and eventually moved to Luna’s Safe Haven.

I love it when people come to visit as cuddling is my favorite pastime. I enjoy going for little walkies, adore my two girls whom I share a cage with and like to take my stuffed animal everywhere.

Life on the streets is tough, so I looked really old, though I was actually a pretty young guy. I was also suffering from lots of ticks and malnutrition but with the help of a very friendly vet, I become a healthy and energetic boy once again.

I spend some time at a foster before I entered Luna’s Safe Haven. I loved my life at my foster home. I made great furry friends and built a strong bond with my foster. I have lived at the sanctuary for a couple of years now, and I am growing more confident each day.

My tough start in life makes me wary of strangers. With this in mind, I will need some time to adjust to my new home and patience to do so. I arrived at Luna’s Safe Haven in 2022 with an amputated leg and a whole lot of sadness in my eyes. My owner had hit me with his car. I was so badly hurt, my owner decided to euthanize me. Luckily the vet asked Luna for help. Although Luna saved my life that day, the vet couldn’t save my leg.

It might surprise you, especially if you haven’t seen many three-legged dogs like me before, but I adapted to the amputation with ease. I enjoy my walks and can really get some speed up when I want to! These days, I am a happy boy with a friendly personality and a healthy body.

My owner permanently chained me to a truck. No walks, no love and stainless steel food bowls standing in the hot sun. Ironically, my owners asked Luna for help. They wanted help to put me down cause I had erlichia, severe aneamia, tvt and heartworm.

Luna was shocked and spoke to my owner who eventually agreed to surrender me into their care. The chain was cut, and that was when my life truly began.

With the help of a local vet and a lot of TLC I got neutered back to health. I do have some problems with my weight sometimes and my vision on one side has lessened due to aneamia in the past but the adoption team can tell you all about it, when you get in touch.

At my former home, I experienced scarcity of food so I can be possessive of my dinner. Please feed me separately from other dogs to ensure that meal time stays a positive experience. I walk well on a lead so it would be great to explore the world with you. I can be selective when it comes to other dogs though but I love humans.

I actually pretty liked my life there. But one day, I got hit by a car. My hip was shattered and I had to spend a couple of weeks at the vet. After I regained my strength, I was brought to Luna’s Safe Haven for my full recovery.

Being out of the street life routine for so long, there was no way, I could go back to my old life. I’m still adjusting to life at the sanctuary, and I’d say I’m doing well. I am very fond of human attention and love to play with other dogs and stuffed toys. I am also a good leash walker!

I came to Luna almost three years ago, after they rescued me and my family of the streets. We were scared and a bit stand off-ish, but we soon became one of the best packs at the Haven. We were called the ‘Encanto 5’. A lively and playful pack that loved to run in the running area. We were good with other dogs, went back into our cage without causing any drama and quickly overcame our shyness and strayed to ask for cuddles.

In 2022 the five of us were scheduled for a Freedom Flight but sadly Luna couldn’t find fosters for two of us. Bruno and I had to stay behind, while the other three encanto’s got a second chance in life.

But no worries. This fall, I get another chance at finding my forever family. I am still a bit shy but with the encouraging hand of a person I love, I am certain I’ll overcome any troubles I might encounter in my new world. In 2023, I was hit by a car and left to suffer on the side of the road for three whole days. I didn’t move and I didn’t eat. When the rescuers from Luna took me to the vet, they discovered my brain was permanently damaged and my left front knee wasn’t working as it should no more.

Too be honest, I don’t notice my brain is damaged. It’s just my walk that makes me different from other dogs. But even that doesn’t stop me from running and jumping. I am very fond of human attention and every dog I meet is my friend.

You could say I had a normal life, before I become a homeless pet. I had two rescue sister and an owner who took good care of me. He took us for walks, learned us tricks and gave us love. Until one day, for reasons I will never understand, my owner left me and one of my sisters behind.

Me and my sister weren’t the best of friends, so we were separated at the sanctuary. My sister quickly found a new home and I made new best friends at the sanctuary.

Although I enjoy my time at the sanctuary, I really would love to live at a home again and feel the love of a family. I am super affectionate and love to be all over you. I am playful and smart. I already know the commands ‘sit’ and ‘paw’, and I am certain I can learn many more if you give me the chance. I am also very good at walking on a leash and like to go on little adventures.

Can you offer me a loving home? I’ll be forever grateful.

I was found abandoned in the garden of an empty house together with a chained male dog and my deceased baby. Even though our passed away owner was an abuser, I surprisingly still was a happy and sweet girl.

I was brought to the vet, where I stayed a couple of days until a spot opened up at the Safe Haven. My skin was treated for flees and my fur started to shine again.

I am a good walker and enjoy exploring the sanctuary with my furry friend. It takes a minute sometimes to feel completely comfortable around strangers but once I do I will shower them with love and make sure I make them laugh.

My BFF and I found ourselves struggling to survive on the streets and ended up skinny and weak.

At the sanctuary, Luna nursed us back to health from near starvation. I currently live at the sanctuary with over a hundred dogs. If you’ve taken a tour of Luna’s Safe Haven in recent years, you might have even met me yourself! I am the girl with the long, scruffy hair.

I am a bit shy but I secretly really enjoy cuddling and I don’t know any strangers when it comes to eating cookies out of someone’s hand. I am good with other dogs; I love to play and cuddle with them.

I’ve been waiting to find a forever home for many years now. If you can make it happen, please apply. I don’t want to live the rest of my life at the sanctuary.

Hundreds of puppies are born every year on the streets of Aruba. They have no one to care for them, and many don’t survive as the challenges are overwhelming. Me and my four siblings were lucky to be found as we were hiding in a cave in a cliff side. We were terrified of humans at first, as we had never known human love. But we’ve formed a strong bond with our carers over the years and two of my sisters even got adopted!

I can be nervous, particularly outside of my enclosure, so it may take some time for me to adjust to a life in a home. But I’m certain with your love and patience, I can thrive. Having doggie siblings would also be great, as they would make me feel safe and can show me the ropes.

Please consider adopting a shy girl. We have so much to offer, we just need some more time to let our true personalities shine.
