Hey! I am Abe, a 3 year old and approximately 50lb boy looking for my forever home.
My family has made the difficult decision to look for a new home for me after coming to the conclusion that I'm not happy living in the city. My family is not a family “getting rid” of their dog. They love me dearly and have tried everything to make it work.
I am reactive to dogs on leash and people/dogs walking past my house- I live in an urban, very busy pedestrian area but am seeking a quieter home where I can thrive and enjoy life as I deserve.
While reactive on leash, I do well with other dogs with slow introduction. I attend doggy daycare and have many dog friends I love to play with. I have NO issues with resource guarding, food aggression or sharing toys. My mom says I am a perfect gentleman when in the right environment.
I am:
-Housebroken and crate trained
-Up to date on all vaccines and preventative medications
-I walk well on a leash and have good recall- I come with lots of training under my belt and am very smart!
-No cats or critters for me- too fun to chase
-I am ok with older kids - I love people but haven’t been around young children

“We have come to the decision that we need to rehome Abe. We love him dearly and he’s a good dog, and has the potential to be a great dog, but our living situation is not suited to his needs. Abe is quite smart, knows many commands and has great recall. He does well with other dogs in bigger spaces, at day care and with dogs we have introduced him to do. He loves to play with other dogs. Loves his toys and showing you them. He is really great about sharing toys and food.
At my brother’s house where he has a bigger and more private yard and a dog to play with, Abe thrives. He literally smiles the entire time. This is heartbreaking for us but we want to find him the right home and right space where he can live his best life”
